Hive Hardfork 25 - Equilibrium

Hardfork 25 deployed very smoothly this week on June 30th. But it hasn't quite reached equilibrium yet. Within 24 hours of the hardfork, users started to notice something off with content curation rewards. Votes made prior to the fork yielded unusually low rewards while votes made post-fork sometimes yielded unusually huge rewards. This behavior unleashed a 6-ish-day voting bonanza, where Hivers attempt to rear-run votes from large stakeholders to capitalize on the rewards change. Authors who published pre-fork-voted posts experienced some unusual voting volume, too.

July 1st was also @traciyork's monthly Hive Power Up Day. Perhaps because of the timing of the hardfork and voting bonanza, this HPUD shattered records for power-up volume. In total, 2.5 million Hive powered up on HPUD.

This Week in Hive-Powered dApps, Tribes, & Tokens

Hive powers a growing number of decentralized apps (dApps). Since they all run on the same chain, one Hive account can access every app. Here's a quick summary of the Hive app landscape.

Ecency Vision Updates

The @Ecency team released new updates on Ecency.com this week. Typically these updates roll out to the desktop app and mobile apps at a later date. A new Guided UI feature walks new users through how to use the site. The Chinese language is now supported. And many other features are enhanced to improve user experience.

Hive Signer UI Refresh

Alongside Hive Hardfork 25, @good-karma and the HiveSigner team deployed a beautiful new UI this week.

Hive-Engine Tribes 2.0

@aggroed announced an exciting, upcoming upgrade for Hive Engine Tribes, dubbed OUTPOSTS. Outpost sites will have integrated NFT features, liquidity pools, and DAO / decentralized token funds.

Proposal for Deathwing's API Node: DHF-184

A new proposal for DHF-funding was entered by @Deathwing this week. The proposal seeks funding for hosting Hive API node infrastructure. API Nodes are critical infrastructure for the smooth operation of Hive dApps. If you're reading this post, chances are the text was served up by one of the API nodes. This is the 184th DHF proposal.

PeakD Releases even More Features

The @PeakD team published a great post this week to explain the voting bonanza. It shows how to use PeakD's new Advanced Search features to find posts for curation. PeakD also now shows more information about total rewards on the activities page. These changes are in addition to support for HF25 features including recurring transfers.

CryptoBrewMaster Announces NFT Staking

This week the @CryptoBrewMaster team announced a feature for NFT staking. Limited edition NFTs can be purchased with ASH tokens, and then staked to earn interest. The game's "influence" mechanic impacts interest percentages.

Splinterlands is perma-Suspended from Twitter

This week the @splinterlands Twitter account was permanently suspended from Twitter, while the game was named @marketsquare s game of the month. A new Twitter account called @SplinterlandsHQ was launched.
